Rookie Sensation Luis Gil takes on Tyler Glasnow in New York under the Sunday Night Lights.
Is there anything better than a real potential World Series preview in early June? Short of the actual World Series, I’d argue not. The runway is clear, the franchises are rich with history, and the two teams have not met in the fall since 1981.
Currently, DraftKings Sportsbook has the Los Angeles Dodgers as slight favorites (-135), but I feel this game will go to New York. The Yankees have not been swept at home this season and have not lost a home game that Luis Gil has started, while also winning 7 consecutive contests with Gil on the mound.
Over the past 7 days (and honestly really for the past month or so) Aaron Judge has been on fire, hitting .500 with 3 Home Runs and 12 RBI’s. Judge has struggled in his career against Glasnow, striking out 7 times in 18 At-Bats with just 2 singles.
While Judge has not had an easy go with Glasnow, Giancalo Stanton has had some success. Stanton has homered 3 times in 15 at bats, with 2 of the homers occurring in the 2020 playoffs while Glasnow pitched for Tampa Bay.
There are two current Dodgers who have faced Luis Gil, both in 2023. Teoscar Hernandez (0-2, 2k’s), and Enrique “Kike” Hernandez (1-3), both faced Gil during their stints in the American League East.
Tonight’s Plays for $25 on Draftkings Sportsbook:
- $12 on Yankees ML (+114) to pay $25.68
- $5 on Giancarlo Stanton Home Run (+310) to pay $20.50
- $3 on Correct Score Yankees 4 – Dodgers 2 (+2000) to pay $63.00
- $5 on Luis Gil to record a Win (+230) to pay $16.50
